Our Company
WNC Landscaping provides landscape design, installation, and consulting services that increase the beauty and value of your home and property for years to come.
Charles Boyd, owner and operator, started WNC Landscaping over 50 years ago. What began as one horticulturist’s practice has grown into a full-service landscape company based at 557 Hemphill Road in Waynesville, serving both residential and commercial clients. Today the company handles everything from landscape design and installation to irrigation, water features, and drainage — backed by decades of hands-on experience in these mountains.
We serve homes and businesses across all of Western North Carolina, including Waynesville, Canton, Lake Junaluska, Maggie Valley, Clyde, Cherokee, Sylva, Asheville, Mills River, Hendersonville, Brevard, Black Mountain, and the areas in between.

Charles founded WNC Landscaping over 50 years ago and still leads the company today. A graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. and M.S. in Horticulture and Education, he taught horticulture at the high school and community college level — but he never wanted to let go of the practical, hands-on work. He always wanted his students and his community to know he could “walk the walk” as well as “talk the talk.”
Charles has maintained his professional landscape contractor’s license and is one of only a few in the area with a professional degree, decades of field experience, and licensing all together. He retired from teaching in 2002, and has since served on the Board of Directors for Haywood Community College, the NC State Cooperative Extension Service Advisory Board, and Haywood County Soil and Water Conservation.

Brian returned home to Waynesville in 2001 and joined his father as an additional landscape designer. Like his father, he is an NC State graduate. He expanded the business with his talent for waterfall and pond design and installation, as well as the full design and implementation of irrigation systems. Today Brian is one of only a few certified irrigation specialists in Western North Carolina.
Brian also grows North Carolina certified Fraser fir Christmas trees on the family farm and offers them for sale from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve each year. His trees are cut fresh, with choose-‘n-cut options available — and he is one of the only distributors of dug (live) Christmas trees in and around Waynesville and most of Western North Carolina.

Linda manages the office and bookkeeping for the business — the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly for our clients.
A graduate of NC State University, Woody provides technical service and support for the business.
A graduate of Peace College, Amy assists with the business’s marketing.
